The company, whose packaging machines are used extensively by multi-national cheese producers in the UK, Italy, France, USA, Germany, Poland and Russia, offers a range of horizontal, vertical and four-side seal sachet machines.
Within the cheese sector, Ilapak believes that one of its most innovative machines is the stainless steel Delta 3000 HSR, an inverted electronic horizontal flow-wrapper for high speed modified atmosphere packaging, designed to be consistent with the highest US and European dairy hygiene standards.
Capable of producing high quality MAP packs at high speeds of up to 160 packs a minute on products weighing from 150 g to 1.5 kg, the Delta 3000 HSR uses a single jaw, long-dwell sealing system to ensure high production speeds combined with high integrity sealing.
Efficient and hygienic product handling are important benefits – film is fed into the machine from below the level of the product flow, allowing products to be placed from the infeed section directly onto the film with minimum product contact. This makes it ideal for delicate, sticky or irregular shaped cheeses in various formats, including slices.
Developed to meet long-term performance requirements of the highest levels, the stainless steel Delta 3000 HSR’s single jaw sealing system is extremely reliable and versatile and able to run a wide range of products and films on the same machine.
A high degree of pack integrity is not only a key feature of Ilapak’s Delta machine family but also of its Vegatronic family of vertical bagmakers. The firm claims that its Vegatronic 2000 machine can pack a variety of grated, shredded, diced and shaved cheese products in formats ranging from pillow packs, block bottom packs and stabilo packs to Doy-style stand-up packs and three-sided sachets.
Recently upgraded to offer improved seal quality and a more robust modular construction, the Vegatronic 2000 now has a redesigned sealing jaw system with higher sealing jaw closing torque for improved seal quality and an improved jaw drive for more precise sealing.
Ilapak is also highlighting its extensive range of resealable packaging solutions, including the brand new Strip-It system, a versatile, in-line, integrated resealable pack applicator designed to apply recloseable fastenings to hermetically sealed packs, so that they rip open easily and reclose using a simple adhesive strip. Convenient and easy for consumers to use, new Strip-It recloseable fastenings can be applied to flow-wrap packs, pillow packs, block bottom bags, three-sided seal packs and gusseted and Stabilo packs and are ideal for grated, shredded and diced cheeses.
To complete Ilapak’s offer for the cheese industry, the company is also showing its Astra PC, Alfa, its range of multi-head weighers which provide an exceptionally fast and accurate method of weighing grated, shredded, diced and shaved cheeses, as well as a variety of highly customised complete production lines.
